I force myself to put on my cycling gear, down a quick cup of tea and head down the road 20km to Ballyvaughan. Following registration I head for the Tea Junction for breakfast, followed by another coffee and crepe in another coffee shop. By now the town is full, and the 160km tour is about to start. Sean Kelly delivers his usual safety advice and we're off.
A free ice cream at the finish, a quick change of clothes, and we headed to the pub for some welcome refreshments. A very tough but enjoyable day. The rain wasn't was bad as initially expected and the sun did make an appearance .
